So this is my first attempt to blog about my experiences. I figured I’d start with my first tropical vacation since it’s probably the most documented experience that I’ve got and by far the most interesting one!

We arrived here via New Orleans, La one week ago (June 21, 2012). It was a pretty quick flight (probably because I slept the whole time and was quite “out of it” from my Dancehall gig the night before). We (my traveling companion, Andrea & I) had a small lay over in Houston, Tx then headed straight to the island. I have to admit, I hate flying but prefer it for time purposes. I was indeed nervous as hell flying over a large body of water as I had never done it before. We experienced a bit of turbulence through the Gulf as their was a big storm brewing. After a nasty bloody mary and a few z’s later, we made it!

Upon flying into the island, I was awe struck at the island itself and the surrounding Caribbean, blue water. So clear, so amazing, so much have I dreamed of this day! Finally, a tropical vacation. Now I was determined to make this a permanent thing, living on an island that is!

We landed. The smallest landing strip I’ve ever dropped in on had the plane come to a screeching, sudden hault! I really thought we were just going to drop off the other side but we didn’t & I forgot to thank the pilot for that. I hope that’s not bad luck!! Checked in with customs with no problem except that I couldn’t find my guitar for 15 min which was really pissing me off!! But alas, i found it and she was safe & sound. So we left the airport and awaited our friend Staci, who is a native & local of the island, to grab us in her 90’s something Toyota Land Cruiser (everyone on the island drives nice big trucks & SUV’s b/c of the terrain). We jumped in and began our island adventure.

I may add captions to the photos later but for now it’s ok to let your imaginations run! I hope you’re enjoying the photos as much as I’m enjoying the whole experience around them!! Feel free to comment~
